THE AMERICAN IDOL EXPERIENCE
IN 2008 I WAS APPROACHED BY DISNEY TO DESIGN A LIVE THEATRICAL VERSION OF IDOL FOR DISNEY WORLD IN ORLANDO. I WORKED ON THE COMPLEX PROJECT FOR 9 MONTHS WITH AN OPENING IN FEB 2009. THE ATTRACTION  COMPRISED OF 7 SHOWS A DAY , 7 DAYS A WEEK 365 DAYS OF THE YEAR. THE SHOW WAS UNIQUE FOR A DISNEY PARK SHOW AS THE CAST WHERE ACTUALLY THE PARK GUESTS. THERE WAS A COMPLEX AUDITIONING PROCESS THAT TOOK PLACE PRIOR TO EACH SHOW IN A SPECIALLY DESIGNED BUILDING ADJACENT TO THE THEATER ALLOWING GUESTS TO PASS THRU A SERIES OF AUDITION ROOMS WITH THE LUCKY CHOSEN ' CONTESTANTS' PROGRESSING THRU TO TRAINING AND MAKE UP ROOMS ETC EVENTUALLY TAKING THE STAGE ON MY SET TO SING IN FRONT OF AN AUDIENCE OF 1000 GUESTS WHO COULD VOTE FOR THEIR FAVORITE USING A DEVICE IN THE ARM OF EVERY SEAT.
THE SET ITSELF WAS A SLIGHTLY SCALED DOWN VERSION OF THE 2008 TV SET.
I AM EXTREMELY PROUD AND HONORED TO HAVE BECOME PART OF THE DISNEY THEME PARKS LEGACY WITH THIS SET AND MY TWO WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE ATTRACTIONS IN WALT DISNEY WORLD FLORIDA AND DISNEYLAND CALIFONIA.
